My name is Caitlin Zima, but I usually just go by Cait. I wanted to introduce myself as a human, not just a dancer to you all. Besides dancing, I have my Educational Specialist degree in School Psychology from the College of William and Mary. I also have a Masters of Education from William and Mary. My undergraduate experience was at Elizabethtown College in Early Childhood Education. I currently work as a full time school psychologist. In the past, I have been a live in nanny to four kids, including a Type 1 Diabetic. I have also been a Residential Summer Camp Director and a leader of five different Girl Scout Troops.

 

Giving back to the community is something I am passionate about. After my senior year of high school I was nominated for and won the RYLA Community Citizenship Award for my activism in the community. This continued in undergrad when I won the Community Engagement Award, which was an award given to one graduating student who was the most active in the local community during their entire time at the school. For me, it is not about the awards and they are never expected. It is about making a difference in the lives of people who need it. Its about being the person someone remembers for making them smile and feel welcomed.

I have four older brothers; Ryan, Brandon, Dallis and Justin, who I use to say were my favorite people. However, I now have two nephews; Lex and Ryder who definitely beat my brothers. My parents, Chad and Christine, and my grandparents, Hank, Lois-Ann and Judy, also all play such a vital role in allowing me to be who I am as well as getting this studio open. I am also a lover of animals (that may have been obvious with all the classes being named after animals). At home I currently have eight cats, four dogs and three turtles. I think the purest form of connection and love is one that an animal can give.
